Technical Report
Annual Report on Standards Contribution
The objective of this deliverable is to provide an update on the status of IKS activities and ini-tiatives aimed at supporting the liaisons of the IKS project with standards bodies (and simi-lar). In particular, IKS is currently active in interacting with W3C, and Apache.
Additionally, this report includes a description of IKS software contributions that are focussed on the implementation of standards, hence relevant to standardization activities
Report on Material for Industrial Training for IKS
We give an overview of the IKS material that can be found on-line, to be used for industrial training. In the third and fourth year, IKS has moved from a hybrid approach (closed and open access/source) to a completely open process. This is witnessed by the graduation of Apache Stanbol to a full ASF project in September 2012 and by the adoption of the front-end technologies VIE and create.js, in several large content management systems, among them Typo3 and Drupal release 8.
IKS Stack Validation Report Update
This report establishes ways by which CMS providers can assess the semantic capabilities of their frameworks as well as the semantic skill levels of their development staff. In consequence, this report consists of two parts. The first part addresses the technical benchmark of a CMS and the second part focuses on measuring the skills of developers with respect to semantic concepts and technologies.
End User Perception of Semantic CMS Applications
This deliverable develops and tests a user-oriented content-support acceptance model (CSAM) which helps to better understand the phenomena of content service adoption. Additional, it provides recommendations on how to improve existing IKS-related content services. In this regard, a literature review on adoption constructs is conducted from which then CSAM is developed.
IKS Early Adopter Report
The total number of early adopter contracts signed as part of the IKS Early Adopters Programme amount to 36 plus the 5 from the UI/X Challenge - this represents a total of 41 IKS early adopters. Of the 16 new early adopter contracts signed in 2012 a great majority of them completed their validation work in the second half of the year.
Participation Report: Academic Workshops
As defined in the DoW, the materials that have been developed in WP 7 shall be promoted in an appropriate way. In this task, the focus is the usage of the developed training material in academic institutions at university level. For this purpose, 10 lectures have been created in Task 7.3. The training material includes lecture notes, exercises and tutorials that describe required foundations and an aggregated overview about the results of IKS. These results address the usage of semantic technologies in the field of content management and software engineering methodologies for the development of semantic CMS.
Annual Report on Standards Contribution 2011
The objective of this deliverable is to provide an update on the status of IKS activities and initiatives aimed at supporting the liaisons of the IKS project with standards bodies (and similar). In particular, IKS is currently active in interacting with W3C, OASIS, and Apache. The initiatives have evolved in the third year of the project thanks to research as well as industrial partners’ effort who have been ac- tive in this task.
Performance Benchmark for Semantic CMS
This report establishes ways by which CMS providers can assess the semantic capabilities of their frameworks as well as the semantic skill levels of their development staff. In consequence, this report consists of two parts. The first part addresses the technical benchmark of a CMS and the second part focuses on measuring the skills of developers with respect to semantic concepts and technologies.
Validation Report 2 Industrial Use Cases
This report provides results of IKS Task 6.2 "Validation of IKS through industrial use case application developers" are reported. The overall objective of this task is described in the Description of Work (p. 76) as follows: "To produce a robust and scalable architecture, the reference implementation of the Interactive Knowledge Stack will be tested through large scale real life field studies. In order to guar- antee that an industry-strength Semantic CMS Stack is created, the IKS components will be tested and validated through industrial use case applications. The use cases will be selected among the ones which can be operated by knowledge workers with clear organisational needs and goals but without sophisticated knowledge of advanced formalisms or technologies."
Design and Implementation of the Interactive Knowledge Stack (Compendium)
This document describes the current status of the IKS development release 6.0. The IKS 6.0 release is planned to be the graduation release of Apache Stanbol, the main component of the IKS. Additional, to the official Apache Stanbol software the IKS 6.0 release contains additional components to complete the stack. With this release the IKS has emerged to a stable status and is ready for use by early adopters.
