IKS first workshop - talking with the community

Last week in Salzburg, Austria 20 personalities from the CMS community joined us in an intensive two-day workshop to talk about the future of CMS - and more specifically reach a consensus on the Interactive Knowledge Stack requirements. Although envisaged as a workshop the audience of 60 representing 15 CMS vendors and 10 research institutes from across Europe and beyond, gave it a more mini-conference feeling - as you can see from the group photo below, taken in the beautiful grounds of Mirabell Garden Salzburg.

In a 2 hour brainstorming session close to 100 issues/themes were raised. These themes were then voted on using a simple form of the Dotmocracy technique, with 4 votes per participant. The goal of the voting was to identify the themes of highest importance for IKS given the timescale and resources of the project.

We are currently working on getting the presentations, interviews, photos and results of the workshop online as soon as possible. In the meantime please join our public mailing list   to find out more about the themes that are on the IKS radar and follow initial reactions from the workshop for example from Bertrand Delacretaz, Michael Marth and Stephane Croisier.
