Horizontal Industrial Use Case Design and Implementation
In this task we focus on horizontal frameworks and the design of appropriate semantic components that have such key characteristics. As a proof of the design and implementation we present the results of integrating such components in existing CMS. The description of work gives us the following terms of reference: • From Task 2.2 - Task leader is UPB: "Understanding the needs of horizontal frameworks”. This task will test the software platforms of NUXEO, DAY and TXT with respect to their relative coverage of the Interactive Knowledge Stack and at the same time look at the service provisions currently offered by the three "horizontal" platforms with a view to extending the functionality of the Interactive Knowledge Stack if necessary." • From Task 4.2 - Task leader is NUXEO: "This task will investigate how open source software platforms including those of the industri-al partners can be enhanced by components of the Interactive Knowledge Stack. We expect to develop components with which interaction, business rules, legacy data access and reasoning support can be integrated into the CMS-technology stacks of the various open source platforms." • Time line for this task is the project's months 18 to 34 which are Y2Q3 to Y3Q4. The remainder of this deliverable is structured as follows. In the next section we focus on the design of the horizontal case. The challenge from the perspective of the horizontal task is to design a system and a reference architecture which supports very different integration and usage scenarios. In section 2 we will describe how the design was implemented and have a look at the provided horizontal components. Section 3 reports on integration stories where the technology developed in the horizontal task was used by industrial partners and integrated into their environments.
